Box Score BILLINGS, Mont. – The Westminster College men's soccer team forced overtime before eventually falling 2-1 at Rocky Mountain (Mont.) on Friday afternoon at Wendy's Field.
After falling behind Rocky Mountain (11-2-1, 2-0 Frontier) on a goal from Tanner Wolff in the 23rd minute, Westminster would draw even in the 57th minute when
Ryan Smith connected on a penalty kick. It was Smith's sox goal of the season to lead all Griffins (6-8, 0-3) and his first penalty kick goal of the year.
With the game tied at 1-1 at the end of regulation it went into overtime. Just 56 seconds into the extra session, Westminster's
Warren Cook was whistled for a foul in the penalty area. Rocky's Oliver Gore put the ensuing PK into the top right corner even though Griffin goal
Logan Butzier got a hand on it.
Westminster will look to respond on Sunday when they visit Great Falls (Mont.) in their final conference game of the season. The game will begin at noon at the Siebel Soccer Park.
