Box Score SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster College women's volleyball team fell at home for just the third time this season with a four-set loss to Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) in a Frontier Conference match on Saturday afternoon at the Behnken Field House.
Westminster drops to 10-11 overall and 4-4 in the Frontier Conference with the 18-25, 18-25, 25-22, 22-25 loss. Lewis-Clark State improves to 13-9 and 7-1 with its sixth straight road victory.
The Griffins finished with 47 kills in the match and had three players in double figures.
Mayra Ramirez led the team with 14 kills and she hit .407 behind just three hitting errors.
Alyse Horton finished with 11 kills for just the fourth time she has reached double figures this season.
Alexis Aalona added 10.
After hitting just .068 through the first two sets, Westminster responded in the third with 16 kills and .302 hitting efficiency. They recorded 20 digs in the set and added two service aces to overcome .300 hitting for LCSC. The Griffins couldn't keep it going in the fourth set where they hit .135 and allowed the visiting Warriors to hit .257.
Jovana Sisovic chipped in eight kills and two blocks for the Griffins.
Emily Atkinson posted 31 assists and
Kyndall Kordakis moved within two digs of the school record for a career with 19 on Saturday.
Nikura Toribio led all players with 24 kills while hitting .380 on 50 attempts. The rest of the team combined for 30 kills and recorded nine blocks.
Westminster will spend next weekend on the road and begin with a Thursday match at Dickinson State (N.D.) at 7 p.m. MDT.
