Westminster Plays at Carroll on Sunday

SALT LAKE CITY - The 20th-ranked Westminster College women's soccer team plays a big Frontier Conference road game at No. 22 Carroll (Mont.) on Sunday afternoon. The game will begin at 1 p.m. from Nelson Stadium on the Carroll campus in Helena, Mont.

Westminster will travel north with a 9-1 overall record and 1-0 in the Frontier Conference. They are coming off back-to-back road wins in Washington last week to extend their current winning streak to a school-record five games. They picked up a 2-0 shutout at Northwest on Friday and then rallied for a 3-2 win in double overtime at Evergeeen on Saturday.

The Griffins are 3-1 away from home this season and have won three straight road contests. They are also 1-0 in Frontier action after defeating Great Falls (Mont.), 4-1, on Sept. 3 at Dumke Field. In the rankings, Westminster is No. 20 in this week's NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll. They sit at No. 28 in the current edition of the Massey Ratings.

Westminster has outscored the opposition 29-10 this season and has 25 assists on those 29 goals. They are attempting 17 shots per game and they have put 91 shots on goal. They hold the opposition to 8.9 shots per game with 41 total shots on goal. The Griffins have outscored their opponents 18-7 after halftime this season.

Sophomore forward Rylei North leads the team with nine goals and 19 points. North is 24th in the NAIA with those nine goals and her 19 points rank 32nd in the nation. Her three game-winning goals lead the team and place 13th nationally. She also leads the team with 18 shots on goal and has put 69.2 percent of her 26 total shots on target.

Margo Hickman leads all Griffins with seven points and is second with 15 points. Hickman's four goals are tied for second-best on the team with Jaime Nelson and Alyssa Hill. Nelson has five assists to give her 13 points while also scoring two game-winning goals. Justine Jones has three goals and three assists for nine points while attempting a team-high 34 shots.

Jamie Wilkinson and Dayna Winter-Nolte have been splitting time in goal this season. Wilkinson has a 5-0 record with two shutouts and 14 saves. She has a 0.78 GAA which ranks 25th in the NAIA. Winter-Nolte has made 16 saves with a 1.08 GAA. She is 4-1 overall and has posted two shutouts.

Against the Opposition
Carroll leads the all-time series against Westminster with a record of 8-2-2. The Griffins are 0-7 all-time against the Saints in Helena. The last meeting was a 0-0 tie at Dumke Field in the conference championships game last season. Westminster advanced to the NAIA National Championships with a 2-1 edge in penalty kicks.
