Box Score SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster College women's volleyball team wrapped up the 2012 regular season with a four set win over Montana Tech on Saturday afternoon in the Behnken Field House.
The win gives Westminster a 14-12 overall record and moves them to 7-8 in Frontier Conference games this season. Montana Tech falls to 18-10 and 8-8 with the loss.
Alexis Aalona led the Griffin attack with 17 kills while hitting .310 on 42 swings. The sophomore added two service aces, eight digs and four blocks in the win. Senior
Stephanie Jones Morin ended her home career with 12 kills and hit a career-best .600 while adding three blocks. Fellow senior
Ashley Marchant chipped in seven kills and 20 digs.
Emily Atkinson ran the offense to 45 assists with 10 digs and Kyndal Kordkis added 28 digs.
Westminster finished with 54 kills as a team and hit .256 in the match. They hit .300 and .344 in the second and fourth sets respectively and had at least 13 kills in all four frames. They added six aces and 86 digs while posting 12 blocks. They allowed 57 kills by Tech, but held them to .161 hitting.
Korey Krumm led The Orediggers with 21 kills and hit .436 on 39 swings. Sydney Norris and Shersteen Cline added 12 kills apiece with Mikayla Sullivan getting 11 kills.
Westminster finished the regular season in seventh place in the league standings and draws second-seeded Carroll College in next week's conference tournament. The match will be played on Friday with the time yet to be announced.
