Box Score BILLINGS, Mont. – The Westminster College women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at Rocky Mountain College on Saturday afternoon. The loss snaps a three-match losing streak by Westminster.
Westminster falls to 12-7 overall and 5-3 in Frontier Conference play with the 19-25, 20-25, 22-25 loss. Rocky improves to 8-14 and 4-5 with a 10th straight win over the Griffins.
Ashley Marchant led Westminster with 11 kills and hit .207. She also recorded seven kills and three service aces.
Stephanie Jones Morin chipped in eight kills with a .467 hitting efficiency and two blocks.
Emily Atkinson had 32 assists and 12 digs while
Kyndall Kordakis posted 14 digs.
The Griffins finished the match with a 38-36 advantage in kills. They had more kills than Rocky in sets two and three with both teams recording 11 in the first set. RMC tool advantage of a .215 hitting night and held the Griffins to .103 while forcing them into 25 errors/.
Anna Dewald led Rocky with 12 kills and Ahlea Billis added eight. Jamie Elenbaas had 18 digs with Billis adding 11.
These same two teams will meet again in Salt Lake City on Friday. The action will begin at 7 p.m. from the Behnken Field House and is the Dig for a Cure match with all fans that wear pink to the match receiving $1 admission.
