Griffins Beat Great Falls to Sweep Season Series

Box Score GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The 24th-ranked Westminster College women's soccer team completed a weekend road trip with a 2-1 win over Great Falls (Mont.) in Frontier Conference action n Sunday afternoon.

The win moves Westminster to 11-4-1 overall this season and they finish Frontier play at 3-2-1. Great Falls is now 4-10 on the year and 0-4 in the league.

The Griffins would establish the scoring in the game in the 74th minute on a goal from Camille Cooper. Her second goal of the season was set-up by the first assist of the year from Miranda Miner.

Great Falls would raw even in the 82nd minute as Sherry Blaisdell finished her fourth shot of the contest. Assists were awarded on the play to Mayra Castillo and Quinn Wilson.

The winner would come in the 89th minute on a strike from Justine Jones for the Griffins. The senior kept her team undefeated in 12 all-time meeting with UGF on a shot from 12 yards out that was just over the leaping Argonaut's keeper. The sixth goal of the season, and first game-winner, came unassisted as she carried the ball into the penalty area.

UGF finished with a 20-11 edge in shots attempted while the Griffins put five of their 11 on goal. Jones led the attack with her four shots. Rylei North and Jaime nelson finished with two shots apiece. Jamie Wilkinson earned the win in goal with eight saves.

Westminster has two games remaining on the season with the first coming at Houston-Victoria (Texas) on Saturday at 3 p.m.
