Box Score 2 IRVINE, Calif. – The Westminster College women's volleyball team dropped both of its matches at the Asics/Crown Plaza Labor Day Tournament on Saturday. Westminster suffered a 3-0 loss to No. 1 Fresno Pacific to start the day and then fell to No. 6 Azusa Pacific in four sets.
Westminster finished the tournament with a 1-3 record and are now 3-5 overall on the season.
Alexis Aalona led the Griffins with eight kills in the match against Fresno Pacific. The freshman posted a .312 hitting efficiency and added one ace and one block.
Ashley Marchant and
Jenna Harp added six kills apiece.
Marchant came back with a team-best 18 kills against Azusa Pacific. She finished with a .302 hitting efficiency and 15 digs.
Kenzie Mitchell contributed nine kills while
Stephanie Jones Morin had eight kills.
Westminster will return to action on Thursday, Sept. 8 when they host Carroll in the Frontier Conference opener for each team. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. in the Behnken Field House.
