Box Score 2 IRVINE, Calif. – The Westminster College women's volleyball team split its two matches at the Asics/Crowne Plaza Labor Day Tournament on Friday. Westminster dropped a 3-0 decision against No. 5 Biola to start the day and then bounced back to claim a 3-1 win over San Diego Christian.
Alexis Aalona led the Griffins with seven kills in the loss to Biola. The freshman middle blocker compiled a .267 hitting efficiency while adding three digs.
Ashley Marchant added six kills while three other had four kills apiece.
Kyndall Kordakis popped up 12 digs.
Kenzie Mitchell racked up 12 kills with a .450 hitting efficiency in the win over San Diego Christian.
Katie Vance recorded seven kills and five blocks and Marchant had seven kills and 12 digs.
Westminster will complete the weekend with two matches on Saturday. They face No. 1 Fresno Pacific at noon and then play No. 6 Azusa Pacific at 4 p.m.
