BUTTE, Mont. – The Westminster College women's volleyball team snapped a four-match losing skid with a 3-0 sweep of Montana Tech on Friday night.  Westminster picks up its first Frontier Conference win of the year with the 25-19, 25-17, 28-26 victory.

The Griffins are now 4-7 overall and 1-2 in the Frontier.  Montana Tech falls to 7-8 and 0-3.

Westminster posted a balanced attack with six players recording at least four kills.  The team held a 36-24 advantage in total kills with a .177 hitting efficiency.  The Griffins also recorded six service aces and four blocks while popping up 38 digs.

Kenzie Mitchell and Stephanie Jones Morin finished with seven kills apiece to lead the team.  Mitchell hit .313 with one block and Jones Morin added six digs.  Katie Vance added six kills with Ashley Marchant and Alexis Aalona posting five kills each.  Emily Atkinson recorded a double-double behind 24 assists and 11 digs.

Emily Lobnitz led Tech with seven kills and Shersteen Cline added five.  The Orediggers had five blocks as a team and 41 digs.

Westminster will conclude this two-game road trip on Saturday when they face Montana Western at 2 p.m.
