BILLINGS, Mont. – The 12th-ranked Westminster men's basketball team picked up an 82-66 win over Rocky Mountain College on Saturday night. Westminster led 43-30 at halftime and cruised to the win.
Westminster improves to 14-4 on the year and 2-2 in the Frontier Conference. Rocky falls to 8-11 overall and 1-2 in league play.
Westminster shot the ball well all night and finished at 54.5 from the field. They also went 18-of-28 at the charity stripe and only turned it over eight times with 11 assists. Defensively the Griffins limited Rocky to 47.5% shooting and forced 13 turnovers.
AJ Reilly finished with a game-high 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting. Reilly grabbed three rebounds and was 5-of-6 at the foul line.
Jake Orchard added 18 points while collecting five rebounds and three steals.
Michael Stockton had 13 points, five assists, and two steals while
Tanner Gregory scored 12 points.
Matt Fogarty led Rocky with 11 points and grabbed six rebounds. Daryl Poole had 10 points off the bench with a team-best eight rebounds.
Westminster will now return home to face 21st-ranked Lewis-Clark State College on Saturday, January 22. The action begins in the Behnken Field House at 7:30 p.m.
