Box Score SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster men's basketball team used a 41-points first half to carry them to a 75-51 win over Montana Tech on Saturday night in the Behnken Field House. With the win, No. 8 Westminster (20-5, 10-1) clinches two home games during the Frontier Conference Tournament.
Westminster again shot the ball well in the opening half finishing at 69.6% in the first 20 minutes. That follows an 80.9% first half percentage on Thursday night. Tonight they finished at 55.1% and posted 17 assists on 27 total field goals. The Griffins also controlled the glass to a 43-27 advantage while turning 10 offensive rebounds into 13 points.
Ben Walker led all players with 21 points on 9-of-11 shooting. He also collected six rebounds while distributing three assists.
Blair Prowse chipped in 15 points with two makes from deep and
Weston Anderson had 14 points and three assists.
Michael Stockton led all reserves with five points, six rebounds, and four assists.
Montana tech got 11 points each from Dean Colbray and Brian Davison. They forced the Griffins into 15 turnovers but only managed seven points from those opportunities.
Westminster returns to action when they visit defending NAIA National Champion Rocky Mountain College on Thursday, February 18 in Billings, Montana.
