OMAHA, Neb. -- A goal in the 10th minute by freshman Ryan Beasley was enough to give No. 25 Bellevue University men's soccer team a 1-0 shutout over Westminster College Saturday afternoon at Tranquility Park.
The Bruins improved to 8-3 on the season, picking up their third-straight win. Westminster fell to 8-5 overall.
Beasley scored at 9:55 with a shot from six yards out in the box following a pass down the right sideline from Emmanuel Pena (Bellevue, Neb.). Alex Zimmer (Bellevue, Neb.) and Pena were both credited with the assist.
Senior Sebastian Narvaez (Cali, Colombia) recorded his fifth shutout of the season, while recording three saves, playing all 90 minutes in goal to improve to 7-3 on the season.
Bellevue outshot the Griffins 14-6 and held a 5-3 advantage in shots on goal.
Westminster will now travel to Hastings, Neb. to face fourth-ranked Hastings College on Sunday, October 10 at 5:30 p.m.
