SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster volleyball team steps out of Frontier Conference action for a match at Mesa State on Thursday, October 7 in Grand Junction, Colorado. The match is the lone match for the Griffins this week, marking the second straight week with just one match.
Westminster will hit the road with an 8-7 overall record and in fourth place in the Frontier Conference at 4-3. They dropped a 3-1 decision against No. 11 Lewis-Clark State College last Friday in the Behnken Field House to snap a four-game winning streak. They will take a 2-3 road record with them to Colorado.
As a team, Westminster is fourth in the Frontier Conference with a .182 hitting efficiency. They average 11.8 kills per set and post 10.9 assists. From the serve line the Griffins have recorded 97 service aces to average 1.7 per set. On the defensive end, Westminster averages 14 digs and two blocks per set. They hold the opposition to a .188 hitting efficiency and have only allowed 77 service aces by the opponent.
Clotile Harris continues to lead the Frontier Conference with 215 kills and an average of 4.3 per set. Harris is hitting .231 this season while recording 20 service aces and 29 blocks. Stephanie Jones leads the squad with her .252 hitting efficiency and is tied with
Katie Vance with a team-high 43 blocks.
Kyndall Kordakis leads the team with 206 digs and
Emily Atkinson has a team-best 510 assists.
