Box Score BUTTE, Mont. – It wasn't easy, but the Westminster men's basketball team came away with a 61-52 win over Montana Tech in Frontier Conference action on Friday night. No. 10 Westminster made just 2-of-13 from beyond the arc and shot just 40.4% for the game. It took a 39-35 second half to improve the Griffins to 13-4 overall and 3-0 in the Frontier. This is also the 10th consecutive victory for Westminster.
Defensively the Griffins held Tech to just 32.8% shooting while forcing 13 turnovers. Westminster dominated the paint, outscoring the home team 32-16 in that department while turning 11 offensive rebounds into 10 second chance points.
Ben Walker paced the Griffins behind his third double-double of the season with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Walker shot 9-of-11 from the field before fouling out late.
Weston Anderson added 11 points but was just 3-of-11 shooting. Anderson contributed three assists.

Dirk Anderson led Montana Tech with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Dean Colbray added 13 points while Brian Davison had eight points off the bench. Montana Tech falls to 7-12 overall and 3-0 in the Frontier Conference with the loss.
Westminster completes the road trip on Saturday, January 16 with a trip to Dillon, Montana to face Montana Western. That game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
