SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster men's soccer team scored three times in the second half to turn a 1-0 lead into a 4-0 victory over Soka University on Friday. The Griffins got goals from four different players while improving to 5-5-1 on the season.

Stephen Littlefield scored his first career goal in the eighth minute when he headed in a corner kick from Isaac Green. Dennis Sellis made it 2-0 when he scored on a penalty kick after a Soka foul in the box during the 48th minute. The game went to 3-0 when Jeff Gardner tallied his third goal of the season by heading home another great ball from Green on a corner kick. Matt Jimenez added the final tally with his goal from 30 yards out in the 84th minute.

Westminster held a 16-9 advantage in total shots, but only put five of those attempts on goal. The two assists by Green mark the first time this season an individual player recorded multiple assists in a contest. Michael Carroll made his first career appearance and start in goal. He recorded one save for his first career shutout.

Westminster returns to action on Sunday, September 27 when they host Southwestern (Ariz.) on Dumke Field. The game is part of Senior Day for the Griffins and begins at 1:30 p.m.
