MONTANA WESTERN BOX SCORE

DILLON, Mont. – The Westminster women's volleyball team opened the Frontier Conference schedule by going 1-1 over the weekend. They dropped a 3-0 decision at Montana Tech on Friday night, and then came away a 3-0 sweep of Montana Western on Saturday. They Griffins are now 4-10 on the season and 1-1 in the conference.

The trip began with a 21-25, 18-25, 22-25 loss at Montana Tech. Westminster lost freshman Ashley Marchant to an injury early in the first set and couldn't bounce back from the emotion of the moment. Tech held the Griffins to .069 hitting and just 28 kills for the match. Ericka Evans finished with 11 kills to lead Westminster.

Westminster bounced back on Saturday with a 26-24, 25-16, 28-26 win at Montana Western. Evans led the attack with 18 kills. Becky Burke added 10 kills and hit .316 in the match. Westminster finished with 49 total kills and 74 digs. Tahnie Blymiller finished with 23 digs.

Westminster returns to action on Thursday, September 17 when they host Montana State-Northern. The first match of the season in the Behnken Field House will begin at 7:00 p.m.
