Westminster Women’s Soccer Loses Their Streak

Box Score BOX SCORE

SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster women's soccer Team lost to the College of Idaho 4-0 on Dumke Field this morning. This loss snaps the Griffins four-game winning streak, and drops them to 4-5 on the season. The first College of Idaho goal was the first allowed by the Griffins in the last 332 minutes.

“Losing Michelle (Erickson) on the back line hurt us defensively and they took advantage of it,” said head coach Tony LeBlanc.

College of Idaho finished the game with an 11-5 advantage in shots and put eight of their attempts on frame. Westminster midfielder Rachel Watson played very hard in the first half, sprinting to every ball and dropping back with speed on attacks. Watson kept her spirits high and didn't let the score board effect her playing.

The Griffins next game is Wednesday September 16 at Southern Utah University. That game will kickoff at 4:00 p.m. in Cedar City.
