Volleyball Plays at Home for Final Time This Season

Kelsey Schaufler, Whitney Roseborough, and Talita Kresser will play at home for the final time on Saturday afternoon.
SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster women's volleyball team plays the final two matches of the 2009 regular season this Thursday and Saturday in the Behnken Field House. Westminster will face No. 19 Carroll College on November 5 at 7:00 p.m. and they takes on Rocky Mountain College on November 7 at 2:00 p.m. The three Westminster seniors, Talita Kresser, Whitney Roseborough, and Kelsey Schaufler will be recognized prior to the game against Rocky Mountain on Saturday.

Westminster enters the week at 9-17 overall and 6-6 in the Frontier Conference. The Griffins have lost two straight after a three-game winning streak last month. Westminster fell to No. 24 Lewis-Clark State 3-0 in their last match. That was the first home loss of the season for Westminster after opening with four straight home wins.

Ericka Evans currently leads the team with 252 kills and is hitting .178 this season. Kresser has recorded 212 kills while Becky Burke has contributed 134 kills. Megan Evans leads the team with 648 assists and 21 service aces. Libero Tahnie Blymiller leads the Frontier Conference and is 18th nationally with her 5.25 digs per set.

Following this week the Griffins will participate in the Frontier Conference Tournament on November 13 and 14. The tournament is being hosted by Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. The bracket and schedule will be announced following this weekend's action.
