BILLINGS, Mont. – Kristy Montignani scored with just 37 seconds left in overtime to give Rocky Mountain College a 2-1 win over Westminster in women's soccer on Thursday afternoon. The loss snaps a four-game unbeaten streak for Westminster, and is the second overtime loss to Rocky in as many years. Westminster is now 7-8-1 on the season and drop into a first-place tie with Carroll College at 2-1-1 in the Frontier Conference.
Tanisia Wilson continued her hot play when she scored a fourth goal in the past three games to put the Griffins ahead 1-0 in the 34th minute. Wilson took advantage of a defensive mistake to put home the pass from
Vanessa Jordan. Rocky struck for the equalizer in the 44th minute when Lexie Day scored to even the game at 1-1. Montignani scored the game-winner on a free kick from 25 yards out in the 100th minute.
Westminster managed just five shots in the contest and allowed 15 by Rocky.
Dayna Winter-Nolte made a career-high nine saves, but had to settle for the loss between the pipes.
Westminster continues this three-game in four days road trip on Saturday in Great Falls, Montana. First kick between the Griffins and University of Great Falls is at 2:00 p.m.
