GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The Westminster men's soccer team had its five-game winning streak by Great Falls 2-0 on Sunday afternoon. Westminster allowed two first half goals in the contest after allowing just one goal over the winning streak. The loss drops the Griffins to 8-6-1 on the season.
Ryan O'Neil made it 1-0 in the 17th minute when he finished a William Obregon through ball to the far post. It became 2-0 in the 26th minute as David Jimenez rebounded a Christian Johansen shot and put it past Griffin keeper
Val Campbell.
Westminster recorded nine shots in the game, but only put one of those shots on target. They also held a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Spencer Luczak attempted two shots and was the only Westminster player to attempt multiple shots. Campbell recorded four saves between the pipes.
Westminster returns to action on Sunday, October 18 when they face Adams State College. The game from Alamosa, Colorado will begin at noon.
