SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Westminster Griffins dropped a tough 2-1 decision to Point Loma Nazarene on Friday night. Point Loma Nazarene tallied a goal in the first overtime to drop the Griffins to 5-2-2 on the season.
Jason Smith put the Sea Lions ahead, 1-0 in the 16th minute. The game remained that way until Travis Dehne found the back of the net in the 64th minute. Dehne put an Andrew Tovstein cross in off a header in the box. Duach Jock won the game in the 98th minute with his goal from 10 yards out. Val Campbell recorded four saves in the loss for Westminster.
Westminster returns to action on Sunday, September 21 when they face Cal State-San Marcos.
