Westminster Continues Home Dominance with 2-1 Win

SALT LAKE CITY - The Westminster Griffins used two second half goals to claim a 2-1 victory over Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) at Dumke Field on Saturday. The win improves the Griffins to 5-1-2 overall and 5-0-1 on at home.

Embry-Riddle took a 1-0 lead behind a goal from Carol Franke in the game's 10th minute. Mark Stoker tallied the equalizer in the 49th minute when he put away a pass from Rue Van Dyke. Cameron Wynhof scored the game winner in the 77th minute when he rebounded a Robert Ward shot past the keeper. Val Cambell recorded five saves in the win.

Westminster outshot the Eagles 16-11 and held a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks. The intense game featured eight yellow cards and 29 total fouls.
