SALT LAKE CITY - The Westminster Griffins men's soccer team remained unbeaten thanks to a 3-1 victory over Metro State on Saturday afternoon. Metro State is the seventh-ranked team in NCAA Division II. The win improves the Griffins to 3-0-1 on the young season.
The Griffins got a goal from Jeff Gardner in the 33rd minutes to take a 1-0 lead. Nicolas Duncan put the Griffins ahead 2-0 in the 39th minute on a corner kick from Isaac Green. For Green it was his second assist of the game. Dino Busuladzic made it 3-0 with his goal in the 64th minute.
Metro State outshot Westminster 19-5 in the contest and Valan Campbell recorded seven saves for the Griffins. He didn't allow a goal in his 74 minutes of action.
