Box Score SALT LAKE CITY - Westminster opened the 2008 volleyball season with a tough three set loss to ninth-ranked College of Idaho on Friday afternoon. The Griffins now fall to 1-16 all time against the Yotes with the 25-17, 25-20, 25-20 loss.

Ali Culp and Brittani Barton led the Griffins with eight kills each while Ericka Evans added seven kills. Four Griffins went for double figures in digs, led by a career high 14 from libero Katie McLintock. Evans also set her career high with the 11 digs she tallied.

The Griffins return to action later this evening when they face Mesa State. Mesa lost its season opener to Concordia to start the tournament. The match is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. at the Lifetime Activities Center on the campus of Salt Lake Community College.
