The Westminster Griffins volleyball team faced a tough matchup on Tuesday night, taking on the nationally ranked #14 Colorado Mesa Mavericks on their senior night in Grand Junction, Colorado. The Griffins battled but ultimately fell in three straight sets.
Claire Cook led the Griffins in kills with 7, followed by Mailei Myers with 5, and Regan Jackson adding 4. The team's serving was strong, with Mailei Myers contributing 3 aces, while Josie Gerritsen chipped in with 2.
Myers also showed her defensive strength with 5 blocks, supported by Breegan Huntsman and Claire Cook, who each had 2 blocks. On the back row, Alanna Lee led the team with an impressive 17 digs, while Emma Reardon contributed 8 digs and Leila Cornejo added 5.
Leila Cornejo distributed the ball effectively, tallying 16 assists, and Josie Gerritsen added 10 assists of her own.
