GREENVILLE, Tenn. –
Keni Nelson from the Westminster College women's golf team has been named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete, the national office announced this morning. There were a total of 105 named to the list with Campbellsville (Ky.) and William Woods (Mo.) tied for the lead amongst all institutions with four honorees apiece.
Nelson is the first women's golfer from Westminster to be named a Scholar Athlete. The junior from Sioux Falls, S.D. was named Academic All-Conference last month.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
