PROVO, Utah – The Westminster track & field team battled through windy conditions and a touch of snow as they competed at the BYU Robison Invitational over the weekend at the Clarence Robison Track.

Westminster finished the meet with a handful of personal best marks and several entries into the school's top-10.

Four Griffins ran in the Men's Mile with
Eric Fykerud leading the group with a time of 4:42.80. That is the second fastest time in the event in team history and a personal best for Fykerud.
Shay Jonart posted the fifth fastest time in team history at 4:49.50 while
Payton Olsen's time of 5:15.42 is 10th in the school's record book.
Justin Boyd also set a personal best in the event at 5:39.18.

Joe Cremer recorded the sixth best time in school history in the Men's 400 Hurdles by running the race in 54.92 seconds. His personal best in the event is also the fastest time in the event by a Griffin this season.

Two other men entered the Westminster top-10 at the meet.
Chandler Clark moved into ninth with a distance of 41.84 meters in the Men's Discus.
Lasana Trawally ran a time of 11.54 seconds in the Men's 100 Meter Dash to rank 10th at the school.

The mile was also kind to the Griffins on the women's side.
Payton Schiff became the first Griffin to break six minutes in the event when she finished in a time of 5:17.58. Schiff now holds seven different outdoor school records.

Olivia Causse used a time of 6:26.78 in the Women's Mile to move into third-place in team history.
Mara Kushner put her name of the seventh line of the event with a time at 6:34.50.

Allison Carson hit a distance of 10.46 meters in the Women's Shot Put for the longest mark of the season by a Griffin. That distance ranks third in school history.
Emily Schmitt ran the Women's 800 Meters in 2:26.93 to place ninth in school history.

Lindsey Hall set a personal best with her 3,410 points in the Women's Heptathlon. She was able to score the record by setting personal best marks in the 200 Meters (28.14 seconds), Long Jump (4.38 meters), and 800 Meters (2:38.14).

Naena Bland cleared 1.53 meters in the High Jump during the Heptathlon competition. That is a personal best for Bland in the event and the highest mark cleared by a Griffin this season.

Westminster will now head for Gunnison, Colo. to compete at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The meet is hosted by Western State Colorado University and will take place from May 7-9.
