COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announce the 2017 RMAC Cross Country All-Academic Runners of the Year, First Team and Honor Roll. Eight cross country runners were named to the 2017 RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
The award winners, along with other First Team All-Academic members, were voted on by the conference's sports information directors. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters and carry a cumulative 3.30 grade point average (GPA).
All student-athletes that met those requirements but were not selected for the First Team automatically qualified for Honor Roll.
The 2017 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Cross Country Academic Runners of the Year was awarded to Molly Reicher and Grant Colligan of Colorado School of Mines.
Naena Bland,
Olivia Causse and
Mara Kushner represent the Westminster Women's team.
Raymond Bertheaud,
Eric Mellmer,
Michael Montoya, Ryna Murphy and
Payton Olsen represent the men's team.
Bland is a senior from Richmond, Utah. This is her third time being named to the All-Academic Honor Roll, having preciously been named in 2014 and 2015. Bland is an Elementary Education major and holds a 3.895 GPA.
This is the first time Causse and Kushner have been named to the All-Academic Honor Roll. Causse is a Communications major with a 3.807 GPA. Causse is a junior from Sandy, Utah. Kushner is a junior from Houston, Texas, majoring in Educational Studies. Kushner holds a 3.935 GPA.
This is the second time being named for Berthaud and Mellmer. Each were each named to the 2015 All-Academic Honor Roll. Berthaud is senior from Oceanside, Calif., studying Finance and Economics with a 3.588 GPA. Mellmer is a junior from Sandy, Utah, holding a 3.736 GPA and studying English.
Montoya, Murphy and Olsen are first time All-Academic Honor Roll recipients. Montoya is an English – Creative Writing Major holding a 3.421 GPA. Montoay is a sophomore from Silver City N.M. Murphy and Olsen are both sophomores studying Aviation – Flight Operations. Murphy is from Truckee, Calif., with a 3.831 GPA and Olsen is from Murrietta, Calif., with a 3.787 GPA.
