COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Erin Kibler of the Westminster women's cross country team was named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country First Team All-Academic Team, the conference office announced today.

Kibler is a junior from Syracuse, Utah, and she becomes the first Griffin cross country member to receive the academic honor form the RMAC. She is majoring in Psychology and competed in three meets this past season, including an 11th-place finish at the Maverick Open.

The RMAC also announced the Men's & Women's Cross Country Honor Roll this afternoon. Griffins Naena Bland and Payton Schiff were named to the women's list while
Shay Jonart was chosen to the men's list.

Chadron State's Nicky Banzhaf and CSU-Pueblo's Derrick Williams were named the RMAC Academic Runners of the Year on Tuesday.

Banzhaf and Williams were also both members of the RMAC Cross Country All-Academic First Team, an award voted on by the league's sports information directors. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters.

All student-athletes that meet those requirements, but were not voted First Team All-Academic automatically qualify for the Honor Roll.
