KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Westminster College outdoor track & field team had three student-athletes named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete, the national office announced. The NAIA named 604 student-athletes to the list with 244 men and 360 women receiving the honor.
Westminster junior
Peter Chew was the lone Griffin from the men's side to make the list. The Griffin women were represented by sophomores
Katrina England and
Chelsey Fraser. They are the first Westminster outdoor track & field student-athletes to receive Scholar Athlete recognition in the program's brief two year history.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
